Overview

Ratangad, often referred to as the “Jewel of the Sahyadris,” is a stunning hill fort located in Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. Rising 4255 feet above sea level, it is nestled in the Ajoba mountain range and surrounded by the imposing peaks of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba, and Ghanchakkar. The fort overlooks the serene Bhandardara Lake and is adjacent to the ancient Amruteshwar Temple, a 1000-year-old marvel of high-class architecture dedicated to Lord Shiva.
